All applications, building plans, and necessary documents must be submitted through the online portal sunsetbeachnc.portal.iworq.net . Please fill in all required fields to help expedite the permitting process. Step 1
  • Select the permit application which you are applying for.
Step 2:
  • Select the Property Information and enter the address of which the work will take place. If no address is found enter it manually in the appropriate field under Property Owner Information.
Step 3:
  • Complete all fields for the application. Most fields are required and will not allow the applicant to submit if left blank. Please make sure the email address for the Applicant/Contractor is correct. The email address will be used for corresponding between all the departments during the review process and will also be used for scheduling inspections and receiving inspection results in real time.
Step 4:
  • Please read carefully under the section Required Files. These items will be necessary to process the application. If these items are not attached the review process will be delayed.
Step 5:
  • Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be notified by email of approval or of any missing documents. If approved, you would receive an email with a payment link to pay online if you chose not to pay by check. We will not be able to process credit card payments in our office.
Note:
  1. Do not apply more than once for the same permit type/address. If you fail to submit a document during the process after submitting, simply enter your contractor ID # and upload the missing document.
  2. Pools must be applied for separately using the Building/Under Construction Excluding New Home Permit Application. 
  3. There is no need to complete an elevator/lift application if an elevator is being installed with new home construction. The elevator contractor will be a part of the subcontractors on the new home application.
