Garbage & Recycling Information
Garbage and recycling collection within the Sunset Beach Town limits is provided by Green For Life and regulated by Town Ordinance Chapter 50.
From November through March, weekly garbage collection is on Wednesday for the mainland and the island. Recycling collection is on Wednesday every other week.
From April through October, garbage collection is on Wednesday and a second garbage collection is on Saturday at the following locations only:
- Island
- Club Villas
- River Creek Condos
- Colony I
- Colony II
From April through October, recycling on the island will be collected every Saturday only.
County Collection Site
You may also take your garbage and recycling to the Highway 904 Convenient Site located at 746 Seaside Road SW Sunset Beach, NC 28468. The Site hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please visit their website for costs and further information.

Registration Deadline: September 10, 2025 by 5 PM *If you do not renew prior to September 30th, your cart will be collected. If you decide later to return to the program, you will be charged a return cart fee in addition to the yearly program fee.
