Garbage & Recycling Information
Garbage collection within the Sunset Beach Town limits is provided by Green For Life and regulated by Town Ordinance Chapter 50.
From November through March, weekly garbage collection is on Wednesday for the mainland and the island. Recycling collection is on Wednesday every other week.
From April through October, garbage collection is on Wednesday and a second garbage collection is on Saturday at the following locations only:
- Island
- Club Villas
- River Creek Condos
- Colony I
- Colony II
From April through October, recycling on the island will be collected every Saturday only.
All property owners, residents, and visitors are encouraged to follow these simple rules:
- All carts must be kept at the house and out-of-view except when put out for collection.
- Carts are to be placed at the street no earlier than 2:00 pm the day prior to collection, but no later than 6:00 am on the scheduled day of collection.
- Carts must be pulled back to the house and out-of-view no later than 6:00 pm on the day after collection.

You may also take your garbage and recycling to the Highway 904 Convenient Site located at 746 Seaside Road SW Sunset Beach, NC 28468. The Site hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please visit their website for costs and further information.
